About FSK

Forestry Society of Kenya (FSK) is a membership organization of professional foresters in Kenya. It was registered in 1979 to provide a forum for professional foresters contribute to national development and environmental conservation issues. With a current membership of over 1, 500, FSK is the sole organization that represents forestry professionals and provides leadership to enable all members of the profession to achieve excellence in sustainable forestry and natural resources management.
It is an autonomous, non profit organisation whose vision is be the leader in promoting sustainable forest management practices, in gazetted, non gazetted forests and on-farm. It was created to strengthen professionalism in the sector, contribute to sustainable forest resource utilization and management, influence direction of national policy on environmental management.
FSK collaborates with large scale and smallholder’s farmers to increase trees in agricultural landscapes to improve food security, nutrition, income, health, shelter, energy, resources and environmental sustainability. The society disseminates knowledge about the diverse role of trees play in human livelihood, advance policies and practices that benefit poor, rich and the environment.

 Our mandate

Our mandate emanates from the Forests Act 2005. It is our duty to serve and protect the public interest in the practice of professional forestry. Making sure the forest professionals are competent, ethical and accountable to the association by setting and enforcing codes of conduct and standards of practice for our members, the public and advocating for and upholding the principles of forest stewardship
FSK extensive experience specifically in East African, other countries in Africa and outside Africa, has provided the necessary exposure required by our range of clientele including your organization. Our professionals are well experienced and have successful track records in consultancy assignments nationally and internationally that makes then fit for the task.
