During the 2012 life members club launch members agreed on
the Role and Responsibility of the Life Members
This included but not limited to
· The development of a certification programme for the society
·
Inclusion and exclusion criteria:-
develop a specific criteria for one to be a member, we need to specify the role/responsibilities of the members, with an aim of strengthening the society, the club should be mainly for key mentors /role models
in forestry, they should be vision carriers of the society,
·
Financial sustenance of society through
life members- this could be in form of grants and partnership to facilitate the
sustainability of the society as well as the planning meetings for the life
members.
·
Curriculum for continuous learning through which members
obtain Annual appraisal by earning points Through annual conference; chapters activities
·
Annual members’ activities this can be included during the AGM,
national activities for members that are mainly interesting, as well as social
activities for the members.
·
Highlights the key gaps at all levels through enhancing the
visibility and status of the society.
·
Identify areas for opportunities
This is the way forward
ReplyDeleteThis is the way FORWARD and we need to seriously do that. The draft CPD document was one step. The other step is to reglarly meet to encourage each other to take other steps so that we move the society to another level. It is incumbent upon us as Life Members to be REAL Life Members.
